Serena is not inVINCIble

Today is the day after Serena Williams lost to a little known (to non-tennis people) Italian lady who looks like she is Serena's senior. Apparently, she's only 31.

Not as much people care about Roberta Vinci winning as they care about Serena losing. Serena is known around the world. In endorsements and advertising revenue, Seren probably made more money than Vinci, even in defeat.

The news around the world is not that Vinci won, but that Serena lost. Poor Vinci - accomplished a great feat but she will forever be robbed of the full taste of glory of victory in the semifinals of the US Open.

The defeat tells another story that the world cares about, and again, this does not make Vinci any richer. I don't follow tennis, so I have to ask, is this the beginning of the end for the tennis great that was Serena Williams?

I do follow fairness, so I have to ask, is Roberta Vinci getting her fair day in the sun for her success?
